Over the past 25 years I have been inspired by my involvement in voice & movement work. This included studying Amerta Movement with Suprapto Suryodarmo for 3 months, with my family, in Java. Since 1998, when Storydance began, I have brought my excitement about singing and dancing to my work with young children and their families. The impetus for this came from my frustration at not being able to find a suitable class for my own daughter, then aged 2.
Enjoying running these sessions, I went on to gain related professional qualifications; firstly, a Certificate for Dance Leaders in the Community and then an MA in Dance Movement Therapy at Roehampton University. Now, in addition to running Storydance, I also work as a Dance Movement Therapist for the NHS.
I have a BSc in Psychology and have studied Mime, Clowning & Storytelling. (I have full professional indemnity insurance and an enhanced CRB certificate.)
