Love, Laughter and Living with a Baby
These groups provide both a warm and active environment for mothers and babies to explore movement play together. Groups start in circle, with people saying a little about their week (not necessarily always ‘fine’!).
I then offer some suggestions for activity to be adapted by mothers according to the age and mood of their baby. These are songs and rhymes in which infants can be kissed, rocked, tickled etc, I may then bring out scarves or streamers from which games develop involving watching, reaching or peek-a-boo. Music is then used giving an opportunity to move around the room carrying your baby, focussed either just on each other or in relation to others in the group. Babies are surprisingly social and love being danced in relation to each other often smiling, kicking and squealing in delight as they are brought close together.
